Private Driver Assessment Day
skip: The DB Schenker single car transports for all of EuropeThe Assessment day is suitable for candidates applying for the position of Train Driver with a Train or Freight Operating Company, fulfilling the requirements of the Railway Industry Standard 3751.
The current trainee driver assessment process consists of a fast reaction computer test, concentration test, mechanical comprehension test, two trainability tests and a criteria based interview.
There is a minimum age requirement of 21 and drivers must not have defective colour vision. Body Mass Index should not normally exceed 33.
Candidates are only allowed to sit the assessment twice, and six months must elapse before you are eligible to re-sit the assessment. Details of all assessment results are kept on a national database.

DB Schenker is able to offer this service to the general public for an incredible discounted rate of £145, payable in advance. Personal cheques must be received six weeks in advance and made payable to DB Schenker, however this time may be reduced by sending a bankers draft. This special offer is subject to limited places and will be on a first come first served basis.

- No refund is given for cancellation after payment is received.
- If you rearrange your date giving more than 10 working days notice this is done free of charge.
- If you rearrange giving less than 10 working days notice you will need to pay the full amount again.
Passing the assessment would be no guarantee of a position within DB Schenker or any other train operator.
